The Donroe Doctrine?!?
Alternative Investing in an Era of Transactional Geopolitics
In a period defined by geopolitical realignment, evolving national security priorities, energy transition pressures, and heightened great-power competition, investors face a materially different macro and policy landscape than in prior decades. This symposium convenes leaders across defense technology, cybersecurity, energy investing, and private capital to examine how shifting national security doctrines and transactional geopolitics may reshape private market opportunity sets. As governments revisit industrial policy, defense procurement models, and public-private partnerships, capital allocators must consider how alternative investment strategies—particularly in defense technology, cybersecurity, AI, energy infrastructure, and dual-use innovation—may evolve over the next several years.
The discussion will explore:
- The intersection of national defense strategy and private capital formation
- Emerging models for funding next-generation defense and dual-use technologies
- Cybersecurity and AI as core pillars of national resilience
- Energy security and its implications for private equity and infrastructure strategies
- How geopolitical fragmentation may alter underwriting assumptions, liquidity pathways, and exit markets
Participants will gain a strategic framework for evaluating defense-adjacent private investments, insight into how evolving national security doctrines influence capital allocation, and perspective on cybersecurity and energy security as both risk mitigants and growth drivers. The discussion will also address portfolio construction considerations in an increasingly fragmented global order. Join us for a timely conversation at the intersection of capital, security, and strategy.
