Come join Andy Berkin, Ph.D, as he reviews Volume 1, Quantitative Methods, from the Level I 2026 CFA Curriculum. CFA® Institute’s Quantitative Methods curriculum introduces the Time Value of Money (TVM), Organizing, Visualizing, & Describing Data, Presentation Concepts, Common Probability Distributions, Sampling & Estimation, Hypothesis Testing, and Introduction to Linear Regression. Quantitative Methods plays a significant role in the CFA exam that is utilized in many of the other areas of the CFA curriculum, such as equity investments, fixed income valuation, and corporate issuers. Andy Berkin, Ph.D | Andrew L. Berkin, PhD, is Head of Research and Portfolio Manager. He joined Bridgeway in 2013. Andrew oversees the development and implementation of Bridgeway’s statistically driven, evidence-based investment strategies. He also produces thought leadership material for clients, prospects, and external publications. Before joining Bridgeway, Andrew was co-chief investment officer and director of research for Vericimetry Advisors. He previously was a senior member and director of the quantitative research group at First Quadrant, where he spent 14 years in various responsibilities, including developing and implementing stock selection models in taxable and tax-exempt portfolios. Andrew has published numerous research articles on quantitative investing in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored two books. He is a reviewer for several publications, including the Financial Analysts Journal where he served two terms on its editorial board. Andrew earned his BS with honors in Physics from the California Institute of Technology and a PhD in Physics from the University of Texas, where he concentrated his studies in general relativity and astrophysics.
