Founded in 2001, St. Cloud Capital is a growth capital partner to lower middle market companies. St. Cloud has invested in over 65 companies who have in turn grown revenues by over $2.0 billion (sustaining and creating over 12,000 jobs in the process). Discussion will be around best practices implemented at St Cloud to support small business growth and broader discussion on investment themes and risks going into the new decade.
Matt Smith | Matt Smith is a Vice President at St. Cloud and is responsible for sourcing, execution, and portfolio monitoring functions. He serves as a observer or director on six of St. Cloud’s portfolio company boards. Previously, Mr. Smith founded and managed the Structured Finance Group at Banc of California, which focused on origination and structuring of senior credit facilities to middle market companies backed by private equity. Prior to that, Mr. Smith worked in commercial banking and leveraged finance roles. Mr. Smith was also an Army officer and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan where he earned a Bronze Star Medal. He earned his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and BA in Economics and Political Science from UC Davis. Back To Top ^^
