Do you love sushi but can't for the life of you remember their names, much less which ones you like and which ones you don't?

What's that pink one called again? Is that white one yellowtail or halibut? Which type of tuna do you like better? Maguro or Toro?

If you find yourself asking these kinds of questions, then you're in luck. We are hosting a Virtual Zoom Sushi Tasting Event hosted by expert and Chef Erwin Angeles from Kihon Japanese Restaurant. We'll be providing visual guides to help you identify the sushi you're eating as well as keep track of the ones you like.

We will be providing you with a $25 gift card to Postmates for you to place your sushi order (the "Trust Me" dinner option) to SugarFish, and in order to guarantee freshness and an enjoyable experience, we welcome members who live within a 2 mile radius of their 11 Los Angeles locations to take advantage of this sushi tasting event. Simply use the gift card, place your order, and the sushi will be delivered straight to your door and you'll have a chance to experiment and learn which ones you like best. You will receive the gift card after the cancellation deadline and d
etailed instructions on what and how to order will be provided in your event registration receipt and via email.

Chef Erwin Angeles | Erwin Angeles is the Chef & Owner at Kihon Japanese Restaurant on Naples Island in Long Beach, CA (www.kihonsushi.com). Erwin started his career as a sushi chef in 2009 learning all his skills and techniques under the tutelage of the well-known LA sushi master Katsuya Uechi. He also served as the head instructor at Miyako Sushi and Washoku School in the Little Tokyo area of LA. In 2014 he decided to go his own path and opened the restaurant, Kihon. His mission it to adhere to the fundamentals (Kihon) of the art of Japanese cooking while being able to offer a modern twist on the cuisine without losing its identity. Over the years, Erwin has since expanded his horizon by studying the art of sake by becoming a Certified Sake Adviser. In a trip to the Niigata prefecture of Japan, he worked with the “Toji” brewmasters from the Kikusui brewery and made a batch of handmade sake the way it was done centuries ago. Back To Top ^^

Cancellation & Event Policy
Cancellations must be received in writing by 9:00am on September 17th, 2020. No phone cancellations are accepted. Please e-mail info@cfala.org.

You will be provided a $25 gift card to Postmates, a food delivery service, after the cancellation deadline date. You will be responsible for placing your SugarFish sushi order in a timely manner to ensure your delivery arrives on time for the September 21st, 2020 event at 6pm. Detailed instructions on what and how to order will be provided in your event registration receipt and via email.
