A CFALA Santa Barbara Sponsored Group Event

On June 18th, the CFALA Santa Barbara Group will host a dinner at the cozy Wine Tasting room of the Wine Cask to discuss the potential for a next Black Swan Event.

Traditional analytical methods suggest that the current economic and financial times, while still challenging, are on the mend. The crisis of several years ago continues to be addressed and the strength and vitality of the global economy remains a source of confidence and hope. With corporate profitability and selected equity markets at record levels, investors seem to have little to worry about beyond what normally is required of a prudent investor. And this belief in a return to normalcy has been one of the key drivers behind the improvement in certain equity markets’ valuation levels. It is, therefore, fair to ask whether concerns over another Black Swan event are even worthy of consideration? Or should they be dismissed as unwarranted fearful thinking?
