YPG Run Club - 13th Run - Hike

CFALA Young Professionals Group (YPG) Run Club is excited to host the 13th “run” in Hollywood as they trek to the Wisdom Tree! Start at the Wonder View Trailhead. The hike is short but steep and is suitable for most fitness levels. This is a great way to get those steps/miles in and connect with fellow CFALA members. The Wisdom Tree hike is one of the most popular in Los Angeles and offers a lot of bang for your hiking buck. The Wisdom Tree, the only tree to survive the 2007 Barham Fire, has become a source of inspiration for thousands. It sits atop Burbank Peak, at the western edge of Griffith Park and from the summit, you can enjoy the tree’s uplifting atmosphere and sweeping views of Los Angeles and the surrounding mountains.

Trail Details:

• Location: Western edge of Griffith Park.
• Distance: ~ 2 miles round trip
• Elevation Gain: ~980 feet
• Steep, rocky, and mostly unshaded

Helpful Tips:

• What to bring: Wear sturdy hiking shoes with good traction for the loose dirt and rocks, and bring plenty of water since there is no shade.
• The Landmark: The solitary pine tree survived a 2007 wildfire. Visitors leave notes, journals, and wishes in an ammo box or register at its base
