NON-QUANTITATIVE SECURITY ANALYSIS:
What Professionals and Individuals Overlook in Assessing Stocks
Tuesday, October 7, 2008
Speaker:Stephen T. McClellan, CFA - Financial Analyst and Author

Stephen T. McClellan, CFA  is the author of  Full of Bull: Do What Wall Street Does, Not What It Says, To Make Money in the Market.  First published in October 2007, the book is in its 2nd printing. It has been widely reviewed and referenced by the media, and ranked as a best seller by Amazon. Mr. McClellan has made several presentations to organizations, held many media events and has been interviewed on Bloomberg and Fox Business News. He had a distinguished career for 32 years on Wall Street as a securities analyst before retiring in 2003, was ranked on the Institutional Investor All-Star team for 19 years, and is in the Wall Street Journal Hall of Fame.
Today’s economy and investing climate has changed dramatically. Government figures, projections, and actions are no longer consistent with a free market economy. In conventional analysis of investments, the actions of leaders, CEO’s and influential corporate officers may no longer be trusted on face value. Opinions in the media abound. Over-reliance on financial data and analytic computer generated reports will not suffice in our modern investment climate. This presentation will highlight the Street practices that are contrary to sound investing, put forth strategic investment advice that is rarely heard from Wall Street, and review what the author believes to be the best non-quantitative research methods and techniques seldom followed by today's professionals and individual investors.
Mr. McClellan's experience over more than three decades, qualifications as a Chartered Financial Analyst, and objective perspective now that he is no longer on Wall Street, bring a refreshing and insightful viewpoint to this critical investment topic.
