CFA Society Los Angeles invites you to our first micro pop-up social with a theme in Pasadena, which will focus on the role of blockchain infrastructure in finance. Specifically, we will focus on the private equity companies that are building the infrastructure for the future financial system. Our speaker, Andrew Hwang, will speak for 15 minutes, after which there will be time for networking and discussion.
Please bring a friend, spouse or significant other to enjoy a beautiful evening among fellow CFA professionals. We will have food and drinks at the wonderful Der Wolf restaurant in Pasadena. Attendees will be provided with two complimentary drinks as well as appetizers.
SPEAKER
Dr. Andrew Hwang, D.D.S., M.S. | Dr. Andrew Hwang is a periodontist living in Irvine, California. He earned his bachelor's in biology at UCI, his doctorate in dental surgery at UCLA, and his master's in periodontology at Columbia University. He comes from a family of dentists; his parents, sister and brother-in-law are also dentists. Dr. Andrew has always been interested in technology and after completing dental school, he founded several startup companies that assist doctors with patient reminders, online scheduling, and website creation. While on his entrepreneurial journey, he came across blockchain and immediately became fascinated with it. Dr. Andrew spends 5-6 hours everyday, including weekends, researching the topic and has retired from periodontics to focus solely on the coming blockchain revolution. His primary focus now is his role as general partner of a blockchain infrastructure hedge fund, Rosten Capital. Back To Top ^^

Member “no-shows” will be billed the difference between the member fee and the non-member fee for the event which is posted on the CFALA website.
