06-10-2014 Book Discussion: Strategic Value Investing: Practical Techniques of Leading Value Investors by Stephen Horan, Robert Johnson, and Thomas Robinson
Tuesday, June 10th, 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Chair: Don Brown, CFA
A Book Club Committee Sponsored Event
Value investing has its roots in the work of Graham and Dodd. But value is often in the eye of the beholder. This book discussion will highlight the many ways in which investors define value, how it varies over time, and how it compares to growth investing. It quantifies the size of the value investing opportunity as well as compares and contrasts the many ways to measure value. It also describes some of the unique market, cognitive, emotional, and investment constraint obstacles to implementing a successful value investing program.
*One of the authors, Stephen Horan, will be on hand for the book discussion:
Stephen Horan is managing director and co-lead of education activities at CFA Institute. Prior to joining CFA Institute, he was a principal of Alesco Advisors, LLC, and a professor of finance at St. Bonaventure University.
