Scott Laudeman, CFA | Scott is a portfolio manager and wealth management advisor at First American Trust. Prior to working at First American Trust, Scott founded and managed a registered investment adviser. Scott’s financial services career started with a mutual fund distributor acquired by BlackRock. During his 22 year career at BlackRock, Scott managed investment relationships for financial institutions. Scott has served as a volunteer in several positions for The CFA Society Los Angeles. He is the past Chairman of the Ethics and Advocacy Group and taught the Private Wealth Risk Management curriculum in the USC/CFALA CFA Review Program.

Stephanie Chau, ESQ | Stephanie Chau is an experienced litigator and former federal prosecutor who represents clients in highly regulated industries, including telecommunications, technology, medical devices, pharmaceutical, health care, entertainment, insurance, financial services, consumer goods, and retail. She represents clients ranging from Fortune 500 and 1000 companies to startups in emerging markets and midsize businesses, with a focus on complex commercial litigation in state and federal court, contractual disputes, employment, intellectual property, privacy and other regulatory issues, business torts, and consumer class actions. Stephanie maintains a robust pro bono practice with a focus on regulatory compliance, criminal law, voting rights, hate law and First Amendment issues, and other civil and legislative matters affecting nonprofit organizations, including the application of public health prevention models to counter violent extremism.
Previously, Stephanie was a special assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of California where she chaired several federal jury trials and handled numerous appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Before becoming an attorney, Stephanie was an associate at a global fixed-income investment firm.
Stephanie is a certified information privacy professional (CIPP/US) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Clark Hoover | Clark Hoover currently serves as an Investment Officer for the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS) where he focuses on private markets. Clark has more than 15 years of investment experience, which includes positions at Goldman Sachs, UBS and FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). He has a BA from UCLA and MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. After completing undergraduate studies, he spent almost 10 years in Israel during which he served as a tank driver in the Israel Defense Forces, worked at an Israeli tech startup, studied political science at Tel Aviv University, and worked on the breaking news desk for the Israeli newspapers Haaretz and Yedioth Ahronoth.

Ken Waltzer, MD, MPH, AIF, CFA, CFP® | Ken studied neuropsychology at Harvard while producing operas and orchestra concerts in his “spare time”. That’s also when he started investing for himself and his family. Ken’s experience as an active investor now spans over 40 years.
Post med school and residency, Ken worked as an internist at Harvard University Health Services, then came to Southern California to work at Kaiser-Permanente. There he served as Coordinator of Preventive Care, and director of both patient and physician education at the West LA Medical Center. He subsequently founded ConvergenceHealth, a web-based health assessment and improvement resource.
In 2004, Ken’s life-long interest in investing took center stage. He started his own financial advisory, aiming to give many different types of people the benefits of working with a financial advisor and seasoned investor. He later merged his firm with that of KCS co-founder Laura Gilman.
Ken is very active in charities. He’s served on the boards of several in the Los Angeles area, including the Santa Monica Rotary, of which he is currently vice president. Ken lives in West Los Angeles with his wife and two Siamese cats.
