An ESG Advisory Council sponsored event

Regulations, Standards, Ratings- The panel will discuss the continued demand by investors for ESG strategies, the proposed regulatory global ESG disclosures on corporations and investment management companies, global standards, including CFA Institute's Standards, the low correlation between ESG ratings from the perspectives of investors and asset managers.
 

Zoom Meeting features will enable you to ask questions, and chat with your colleagues in real time during the speaker session, which will be followed by a 30-minute town hall session with small breakout rooms for you to share ideas and thoughts together.

SPEAKERS


Chris Fidler | Chris Fidler is a Senior Director on the Codes & Standards team at CFA Institute. He led the development of the Global ESG Disclosure Standards for Investment Products—the first global voluntary standards for disclosing how an investment product considers ESG issues in its objectives, investment process, and stewardship activities. Mr. Fidler has expert-level knowledge of investment product ESG disclosure regulations globally, and currently serves on the UK FCA Disclosure & Labelling Advisory Group. 

Prior to joining CFA Institute, Mr. Fidler was a management consultant at Thought Logic Consulting, LLC, and served in a number of management and analyst roles at Capital One Financial Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from the Darden School of Business at University of Virginia.  Back To Top ^^


Jamie Franco | Ms. Franco is Head of Fixed Income ESG and is responsible for managing the strategic integration of ESG considerations across all fixed income sectors, in addition to working with clients to achieve their ESG objectives within their fixed income mandates. Before assuming her current role, she was a Senior Account Manager and Product Specialist within the Client Services group, where she was responsible for communicating investment strategies, performance, and outlook to fixed income clients. Before joining TCW in 2014, Ms. Franco spent over a decade at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Washington, D.C., serving in several roles, including as Senior Advisor to Treasury Leadership in both the domestic and international divisions, International Economist, and Deputy Director of the International Banking and Securities Markets Office. Ms. Franco was also an Advisor to the U.S. Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund for several years. Ms. Franco holds a BA in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University and an MA in International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. Additionally, she holds Series 7 and 63 FINRA licenses.Back To Top ^^


Rodney June | Mr. June has been with the $21 billion Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS) since 1998 and has served as its CIO since 2012. Prior to being named CIO at LACERS, he served as CIO for the State of Hawaii Employees’ Retirement System from 2008 to 2012. Recent LACERS initiatives include the development of a more inclusive Emerging Investment Manager Program, establishment of an ESG Investment Framework, and expansion of its private credit and equity programs. He holds a B.S. from CSU, Long Beach, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, and an M.B.A. from the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business at Auburn University.
