Petrobras is a Brazil based integrated energy company that operates in all segments of the oil and gas industry.
Established in 1953, has a dominant presence in the Brazilian oil industry and is a global leader in deep and ultra deep water exploration and production technology. By the end of 2010 it was ranked by PFC energy as the third largest listed energy company in the world by market value.
The main feature of the past few years has been the discovery of a giant offshore oil province in the coast of Brazil (known as ‘pre-salt’). This discovery potentially ranks Brazil and Petrobras among the countries and companies with the largest oil and gas reserves in the world and will allow the company to further expand its operations.
SPEAKER: MARIA IZABEL RAMOS
Maria Izabel Ramos joined Petrobras in 2004 and is currently an investor relations manager at Petrobras's New York office. Previously has worked as a research buy side analyst at Opportunity Asset Management. She graduated in economics in the Rio de Janeiro Catholic University - PUC with a year of exchange at the University of California San Diego – UCSD and also holds a master degree in economics from the Brazilian Institute for Capital Markets - IBMEC.
