Ian Nield PhD, ASIP*, a Special Adviser at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, will talk about how the Bank has responded to the global financial crisis and what has resulted from its actions.
Dr. Nield has worked for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand since 1998 and is currently a Special Adviser working across many of the functions of a “full service” central bank. Previously, he has also served in the Reserve Bank as a Manager in the Markets Analysis & Research unit and the Domestic Markets (Liquidity Management) team. Additionally, Dr. Nield has worked as a Strategist for UBS Warburg in New Zealand, Investment Manager for Quorum Capital Management in the UK and Quantitative Analyst for Allied Dunbar Asset Management. He is a Director of the CFA Society of New Zealand and has a PhD in physics from Cranfield University in the UK.
