Arun Bharath, CFA, CAIA | Arun Bharath, is the head of external investment strategies and a voting member of the Investment Committee. In addition to leading the process for the selection of traditional (long only) and alternative managers, he will contribute to the determination of the firm’s recommended asset allocation as well as style allocation within asset classes. He has direct responsibility for manager selection in private equity and real assets.
Prior to joining Bel Air, Arun was the Director of Research at Beacon Pointe Advisors where he led the research efforts in asset allocation and manager selection & performance monitoring across all asset classes. He has previously worked in several manufacturing organizations such as Ford Motor Company, Toyota Motor Manufacturing NA, and Honeywell in various engineering capacities.
Arun holds the Chartered Financial Analyst as well as the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles. Arun has received a Masters in Business Administration from University of Southern California, Masters in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from Bangalore University. Joshua Cascade | Joshua Cascade, joined Wellspring in 2002 and became a partner in 2007. Josh has been involved in a number of transactions over the last 20+ years and has co-sponsored or led Wellspring transactions that include Tradesmen International, Airswift Holdings, OMNI Energy Services, Residential Services Group, ChemAid Laboratories, Vatterott Educational Centers and Neucel Holdings. Josh focuses primarily on multi-site service businesses in the industrial and business service sectors.
Josh previously spent four years with Odyssey Investment Partners where he worked on a number of leveraged acquisitions of middle-market companies. Prior to joining Odyssey, Josh was a member of the restructuring group at The Blackstone Group, advising clients in corporate turnarounds, debt restructurings and Chapter 11 reorganizations. Raphael Haas | Raphael Haas, is the Founder of Melting Point Solutions, a secondary market platform. In this role, Raphael is responsible for strategic direction and day-to-day operation of the firm. Prior to Melting Point, Raphael spent 14 years in M&A and private equity. In his previous role, Raphael was a Director and Head of the Financial Services M&A practice at Kidron Corporate Advisors, a boutique M&A and advisory firm. Raphael led dozens of transactions in the asset management industry and served as General Partner on two Private Equity funds. Prior to Kidron, Raphael served as Director of Corporate Development of a publicly-traded hedge fund in London, Integrated Asset Management. In that role, Raphael led the acquisitive growth of the company. Raphael holds an MBA from Columbia University, where he graduated first in his class. Alan Snyder | Alan Snyder is the Founder and Managing Partner of Shinnecock Partners and President of the Western Los Angeles Boy Scout Council. Alan was the Founder, CEO, President, and Chairman of the Board of Answer Financial Inc. and Insurance Answer Center, CEO of Aurora National Life Assurance, President/COO of First Executive Corporation and Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors at Dean Witter Financial Services Group (predecessor to Morgan Stanley), where he formulated the launch of the Discover Card as a member of a three-person team. Bill Fishel | Bill Fishel, is a Director in the Los Angeles office of HFF. He joined the firm in 2009 and specializes in institutional-grade assets and developments across North America, with a particular focus on equity placement. During his tenure with HFF, Mr. Fishel has contributed to the permanent, bridge, construction, mezzanine and joint venture equity financing of retail, office, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, single tenant, land and data center assets totaling in excess of $6 billion. Jay Glaubach | Jay Glaubach, is a Managing Director in the Ares Real Estate Group, where he focuses on U.S. real estate equity and is Co-Portfolio Manager of the Real Estate Opportunity Funds. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Real Estate Group's U.S. Equity Investment Committee. Prior to joining Ares in 2014, Mr. Glaubach was a Managing Director, head of the firm’s west coast office, and a member of the Investment Committee at DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners, where he focused on sourcing and executing opportunistic real estate investments in the multifamily, hospitality, office, retail and industrial spaces. Previously, Mr. Glaubach worked at ING Barings in its New York, London and Frankfurt offices, where he focused on investment banking. Mr. Glaubach has served as an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at the University of Southern California. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Montage Hotels & Resorts. He holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College, a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Back To Top ^^
Jay Rollins | Jay Rollins, is a Managing Principal and Co-Founder of JCR. Mr. Rollins is responsible for the oversight of the firm, as well as the development and execution of its investments strategies.
From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Rollins was a Managing Director at GMAC Commercial Mortgage, where he oversaw a balance sheet platform that provided bridge loans, mezzanine loans and participating debt for middle market commercial real estate sponsors. After founding the group, Mr. Rollins grew it to approximately $1.6 billion of investments and over 180 transactions, making it one of the most successful platforms at GMAC.
Prior to GMAC, Mr. Rollins was the President and Founder of Eastern Realty Corporation, an “RTC-era” real estate investment company. Eastern Realty acquired distressed assets from the RTC, banks and savings and loans, in a variety of asset classes throughout the country. Mr. Rollins oversaw the assets’ acquisition and disposition, which included debt restructurings, bankruptcy and development as well as note and property sales.
Early in his career, Mr. Rollins worked as a real estate lender for banks in Washington, D.C. and was Director of Finance for a public homebuilder.
Mr. Rollins actively supports financial education and is a frequent guest lecturer and presenter at universities and professional symposia. Additionally, Mr. Rollins has published a real estate finance manual, titled Commercial Real Estate Uncovered: A Handbook for Real Estate Finance and Investments, and is a regular contributor to industry and national publications.
Mr. Rollins holds an MBA, specializing in Finance, from George Washington University and a BS in Finance and Marketing from Virginia Tech. Back To Top ^^
Kevin Traenkle | Kevin Traenkle is the Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer of Colony Capital and involved in many facets of the firm's activities including business strategy, product development, global client relations, oversight of individual investment and divestment decisions, as well as portfolio construction and risk management.
Prior to rejoining the Colony Capital business in 2002, Mr. Traenkle worked for a private equity investment firm, where, among other responsibilities, he focused on the firm's real estate-related investment and management activities. Prior to originally joining Colony in 1993, Mr. Traenkle worked in the municipal finance department for the investment bank First Albany Corporation in Albany, New York. Mr. Traenkle received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Back To Top ^^
