04-12-2019 Women Uniting for Financial Literacy

A CFALA Women's Group Community of Interest and FPALA Sponsored Event

We are looking for up to 20 volunteers to coach high school girls in a one-day SoCal Junior Achievement immersive simulation that enables them to develop skills to successfully navigate today's complex economic environment and discover how decisions today can impact tomorrow. In partnership with FPA Women's Group of LA, the CFALA Women's Member Community is looking to provide volunteers for a one-day event (8am-2pm) at SoCal Junior Achievement's Finance Park. This day has been especially arranged for us, bringing in students from all girls high schools and we will have the opportunity to take these students on a journey where for a day they live an 'adult life', and making all the financial and budgeting decision for themselves and their simulated family.

This is a rewarding experience where you get to give back to the local community and prepare young women for the lives they have ahead of them. There is also some nice time to network and meet women and men from CFALA and FPALA. If your company has some 'giving days' this would be a great way to use one!
