09-19-2012 CFA SOCIETIES CALIFORNIA: 2012 Investment Conference – A Look Ahead
On Sep 19th 2012, the CFA societies of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and Sacramento will host a one-day investment conference at the Hilton Union Square in San Francisco to provide an economic and investment outlook for the State of California, ahead of the 2012 election. The conference will focus on issues affecting the California investment community, from pension plans and asset managers to municipal bond investors and the private wealth community. To kick-off the conference, a hosted cocktail reception will be held on the evening of Sep 18th. Conference speakers include:
- Janine Guillot and Chris Ailman, the COO and CIO of CalPERS and CalSTRS, respectively
- John Wiley, the lead portfolio manager of Franklin Templeton
- Joel Kotkin, an internationally-recognized authority on global, economic, political and social trends
- Vinod Khosla, an esteemed venture capital investor and founder of Sun Microsystems
- Mark Heeson, President of the National Venture Capital Association
- John Chiang, the California State Controller
- Scott Anderson, Chief Economist, Bank of the West
