Roxanne Martino brings over 25 years of experience managing funds of hedge funds and talks about all that it takes to manage Aurora fund of funds. Roxanne Martino will present the risk assessments and controls that they use to manage the multi strat Aurora fund of funds. Based on over 25 years of experience managing hedge funds and their fund of funds, Martino will also address the changes in hedge fund assessments for the new environment.
Roxanne M. Martino is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Investment Management L.L.C. Aurora manages over $10 billion in funds of hedge funds designed to meet various investment mandates including multi-strategy formats.
Aurora Investment Management maintains a proprietary database of over 9000 alternative investment managers and currently invests with approximately 50 managers around the world. These managers engage in non-traditional, alternative investment strategies.
Aurora Investment Management L.L.C. manages onshore and offshore funds and serves as the Investment Adviser of separately managed accounts. Aurora has been managing fund of hedge fund products since 1988
Roxanne has been at the firm since 1990. She spent the first seven years of her career at Coopers & Lybrand where she was a Senior Manager focusing on the commodities and securities area. She then spent over six years at Grosvenor Capital Management, where she was a general partner. Roxanne received a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Notre Dame in 1977 and a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Chicago in 1988.
Roxanne is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago, the Business Advisory Council (current chairperson) of the Mendoza College of Business of the University of Notre Dame and has served as a Director of The Investment Analysts Society of Chicago.
She is also a Director of Thresholds, a Chicago based not-for-profit psychiatric rehabilitation organization, serves on the Investment Subcommittee of the Board of Directors of Catholic Relief Services, the international relief and development agency, serves on the board of Children’s Memorial Hospital and the Arthur Foundation. Her memberships include The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
In addition to speaking at investment conferences, Roxanne has appeared on CNBC and CNNfn. She is also a contributing author of a chapter titled “The Due Diligence Process” in the book, Hedge Fund Strategies, Third Edition, has been profiled and quoted in leading industry publications and was recently included in the Worth Leading Wealth & Legal Advisors December 2010/January 2011 issue of Worth magazine.
