Investing in Frontier Markets
Lawrence S. Speidell, CFA
Frontier markets present great profit potential, yet remain inefficiently priced because investors frequently lack basic information or analytical skills. Financial Analysts will be greatly assisted through the use of Behavioral Finance techniques, because behavior of investors under these conditions can be bizarre; and a keen understanding of human nature is crucial to profiting from the great potential. This program, presented by Lawrence S. Speidell, CFA, founding partner and Chief Investment Officer of Frontier Market Asset Management, will be valuable to those persons interested in both new markets and Behavioral Finance. Mr. Speidell will detail his insights into how local behaviors, CFA behaviors and client behaviors must be regarded to be effective in these newly developed capital markets. Speaker: Lawrence S. Speidell, CFA has been in the forefront of global investing since the 1980s. He is one of the first managers to lead institutional investors into emerging markets more than two decades ago. Mr. Speidell held senior positions at Putnam Management, Batterymarch Financial Management, Nicholas Applegate and Laffer Associates.
Mr. Speidell is a Past President of the Boston Security Analysts Society, and is a popular speaker at CFA conferences internationally and within the U.S. He was voted the most well-rounded CFA by the CFA Institute in 2005.
