Many market observers believe global growth will come from Asia. Using Vietnam as a case study, Louie Nguyen, CFA will discuss several important trends in emerging Asia, from trading inefficiencies to how the "golden population" structure can create a growing consumer base. His presentation will provide insights to where new opportunities may be uncovered for both public and private equity investors.
At Soledad, Louie oversees the research process and manages non-US investments, including direct investments in Vietnam. Soledad is the sub-adviser for the Christopher Weil & Co. Global Dividend mutual fund (CWGDX). Before launching Soledad, Louie was a senior portfolio manager for the Needelman Asset Management International Value product. Prior to NAM, Louie was an institutional portfolio manager for high profile North American and Asian institutional clients at Brandes Investment Partners. He was also a product coordinator for the Japan Equity product. Before joining Brandes, Louie was a research analyst for WestLB in Tokyo.
Louie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Olin School of Business at Washington University. He earned his Master of International Business Studies in Japanese Management and Finance from the Darla Moore School of International Business, University of South Carolina. As a graduate student, Louie was a Mombusho Research Scholar at Waseda University.
